Gattr Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Betelgeuse Studio LLC ("we", "us") about your use of Gattr, our recipe app. By creating an account or using Gattr, you agree to them. We have tried to keep them short and plain. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data. If you have a question, write to us at hello@betelgeuse.studio.

The short version

  • Gattr is a personal tool for saving, organising and planning recipes, including recipes you find on other apps and websites.
  • Creators keep their rights. Imported videos, photos and recipes belong to the people who made them. Only save and share what you have the right to, and give creators the credit they deserve.
  • AI can make mistakes. Check quantities, allergens, cooking temperatures and food safety yourself.
  • The Unlimited plan is an auto-renewing subscription billed by Apple or Google. Cancel it any time in your store settings.
  • Be kind and lawful in everything you post or share.

1. Who can use Gattr

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country to use online services on your own, whichever is higher. If you are under the age of adulthood where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.

2. Your account

  • You can use Gattr as a guest or with a full account (e-mail and password, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google). Some features need a full account.
  • Give accurate information, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
  • Your username must not impersonate anyone, mislead people or be offensive. We may change or remove a username that breaks these rules.
  • If you use Gattr as a guest and lose access to your device or delete the app, you may not be able to recover your guest account. Create a full account to keep your recipes safe.

3. What Gattr does

Gattr lets you import a recipe from a link (a video or a web page), save and edit recipes, organise them in folders, plan meals, get nutrition estimates, and follow friends. When you import a link, Gattr fetches the content available at that link and uses automated tools, including AI, to turn it into a recipe card for your personal use. The Discover tab shows recipes picked by the Gattr team.

We keep improving Gattr, so features may change, and some may be added, limited or removed over time.

4. Your content

"Your content" means what you add to Gattr: recipes you write or edit, notes, folders, meal plans, images you upload, your username and profile photo.

  • You keep ownership of your content.
  • You give us permission to store, copy, process and display your content only as needed to run Gattr: for example to sync it across your devices, to send links you import to our import server and its AI provider, and to show your profile, folders and recipes to other users according to your privacy settings. This permission is worldwide and free of charge, and it ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from backup copies that are removed over time.
  • You are responsible for your content and confirm that you have the right to add it to Gattr.

5. Imported content and creators' rights

Recipes you import come from other people's videos, posts and websites. That original content (videos, photos, text and the recipe itself as the creator presented it) belongs to its creators and remains subject to their rights and to the terms of the platform where it was published. Gattr keeps a link to the original post or page with each imported recipe.

  • Gattr is a personal organising tool. Importing a recipe gives you a copy for your own cooking and planning. It does not give you or us any rights in the creator's content.
  • You are responsible for having the right to save and share what you import. Only import content you can legitimately access, and don't use Gattr to republish, sell or pass off someone else's work as your own.
  • Respect creators. Keep their credit and the link to the original, and support the people whose recipes you love: watch, follow and share their original posts.
  • Not affiliated. Gattr is not affiliated with or endorsed by TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest or the websites you import from. Their names are trademarks of their owners.
  • Rights complaints. If you believe content in Gattr infringes your copyright or other rights, e-mail hello@betelgeuse.studio with: the work you own, where the content appears in Gattr (for example the username and recipe title), your contact details, and a statement that you are the rights holder (or authorised to act for them) and believe in good faith that the use is not authorised. We will review it promptly and may remove the content. We may close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe others' rights.

6. Acceptable use

Please don't:

  • break the law, or help anyone else break it;
  • post or share content that is hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, violent, misleading or otherwise harmful, or that invades someone's privacy;
  • harass other users, spam follow requests, or impersonate anyone;
  • import or share content that infringes someone else's rights;
  • send automated or bulk requests to Gattr or our import service, scrape Gattr, or try to get around plan limits;
  • copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the app, except where the law allows it;
  • try to access accounts or data that aren't yours, or interfere with Gattr's security or operation.

We may remove content or limit, suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

7. AI-generated content and food safety

Gattr uses automated tools, including AI, to extract recipes, translate them and estimate nutrition values. The results can be wrong or incomplete: ingredients, quantities, units, steps, cooking times, temperatures and servings may be missing or incorrect, and a recipe may differ from the original.

  • Check the recipe against the original post or page before you cook, especially quantities, cooking temperatures and cooking times.
  • Allergens: never rely on Gattr to identify allergens or ingredients you need to avoid. Check every ingredient and product label yourself.
  • Food safety: follow good food-safety practice, including safe cooking temperatures, storage and hygiene.
  • Nutrition values are estimates for general information only. They are not medical or dietary advice.

You are responsible for what you cook and serve.

8. Plans and subscriptions

  • Free plan. Includes 5 recipe imports per month and the other features available without a subscription, as shown in the app.
  • Unlimited plan. Unlimited recipe imports for your personal use and all features, including nutrition analysis. To protect the service, Unlimited includes a fair-use safeguard against automated or abusive use. If you reach it, the app tells you and you can contact us.
  • Billing. Unlimited is an auto-renewable subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play. The price and billing period are shown before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple or Google account when you confirm the purchase.
  • Renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your store account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Free trials. If an offer includes a free trial, it turns into a paid subscription when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Any unused part of a trial ends when you buy a subscription.
  • Cancelling. Manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app or your Gattr account does not cancel it. When you cancel, you keep Unlimited until the end of the period you have paid for.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.
  • Restoring. Sign in with a full account to keep your plan across devices. You can also restore purchases from the subscription screen.

9. Other services

Gattr relies on other services, such as Apple and Google for sign-in and payments, and the platforms and websites you import from. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. Gattr contains links to other websites, and we are not responsible for their content.

10. Ending your use of Gattr

You can stop using Gattr at any time and delete your account in Account Settings (see our Privacy Policy). We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering Gattr. Where reasonable, we will tell you first. Sections 4 to 7 and 11 to 15 continue to apply after your account is closed, as far as they are relevant.

11. App Store

If you downloaded Gattr from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/) also applies. If it conflicts with these terms about your licence to use the app, Apple's agreement takes precedence. These terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Gattr.

12. Disclaimers

We work hard to make Gattr useful and reliable, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including that Gattr will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, or that imported or AI-generated content will be accurate.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of Gattr. Our total liability for any claim about Gattr is limited to the amount you paid for Gattr in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived, or our liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will change the effective date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app or by e-mail before they apply. If you keep using Gattr after the changes apply, you accept the new terms. If you don't agree, you can stop using Gattr and delete your account.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws that apply where Betelgeuse Studio LLC is organised, without regard to their conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may be able to bring claims in your local courts.
